Liverpool dominate PL XI of the week as Arsenal and Manchester United miss out.

It’s team of the week time as Steve Norman takes us through who were the best performers from the weekend (and Monday’s action).  The players are ranked according to  Squawka Performance Score. There’s no Manchester United or Arsenal this week but Liverpool form a key part of the team.

GK: Artur BorucSouthampton (101.1)

The former Celtic goalie has come in for some criticism since signing for Southampton but in Monday night’s draw with Everton he kept a clean sheet, made a number of good saves and commanded his area excellently.

RB: Glen JohnsonLiverpool (67.41)

Glen Johnson is having a very good season which was typified in Liverpool’s thrashing of Norwich where he created three chances and picked up one assist. His distribution in general was very good with an 89% pass completion.

CB: Daniel AggerLiverpool (79.86)

Won an impressive seven out of seven headers and played out from the back well with 91% of his passes finding a team mate.

CB: Gareth McCauleyWest Brom (67.88)

West Brom’s form has dropped of late and a draw at home to relegation battlers Aston Villa isn’t the result they would have wanted. McCauley though set up one goal and won 75% of tackles.

LB: Ben DaviesSwansea City (102.99)

Davies has stepped into the boots of the injured Neil Taylor. He scored a fantastic goal in the win against Stoke as well as completing every tackle contested.

CM: Steven GerrardLiverpool (140.71)

Scored one in the 5-0 win over Norwich Gerrard also completed 93% of passes. His return to form has coincided with Liverpool inching their way up the table.

CM: Jordan HendersonLiverpool (119.51)

The fourth Liverpool player in this team of the week Henderson was unusually excellent scoring once and having an 89% pass completion.

CM: David Silva – Manchester City (168.09)

Silva scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Fulham. He also laid on six chances for his team mates and came of best in 67% of take ons.

RW: Aaron LennonTottenham Hotspur (100.66)

Aaron Lennon’s good form continued against Manchester United where he created six chances for Spurs team mates and won 75% of take ons.

ST: Steven FletcherSunderland (116.23)

After explosive start Fletcher’s goal scoring died down somewhat but he was back with a vengeance against Wigan scoring twice from three shots. A shot success rate of 66.6%.

LW: Joe ColeWest Ham United (85.07)

Joe Cole has been impressive in the brief time he’s been back at Upton Park. His goal earned West Ham a draw against QPR and he completed 79% of passes.
